I am in manifold 8 I downloaded from https://store.impactobservatory.com/ a lesotho land cover map you can download it on your own here : https://ied-sa.box.com/s/w9c9fbxf68nucnd0blx44eb1avqbc716 I want to import it in Manifold8 but I can't have the projection right It works fine in QGIS or manifold9. here is what manifold 9 gives me:
If I import the original file in M8, M8 will import it as "lat/long", and if I try to assign to "Mercator", M8 will see give the following:
(I tried to export from M9 to M8, but it does not solve my projection problem) How can I fix that?

In manifold v8, Pseudo-mercator was called "Web Mercator" a different projection from classic Mercator. Try that one. make note of the offset and scale numbers and transfer them into the Web Mercator projection, in case it doesn't pick them up when importing.

Sorry, I am currently on haitus on manifold, due to only running Linux. (thx Microsoft) Maybe someone else here can clarify. What I remember is that when connecting to most online Image Servers in mfd8, that the resulting image would be labeled as Web Mercator. The term Pseudo-Mercator became standardized after the release of v8 as I remember.

"web mercator" in 8 is simply Mercator with a special datum, the World Geodetic 1984 (WGS) Auto datum. An easy way to remember that is to simply link an image server and then use Edit - Assign Projection to see what it uses. For example, here's what you get when you do that with the Google Maps Street Map image server:
