I'm having an issue trying to create labels and can't copy in some files I've downloaded files from the Australian Government. It's quite possible that acting like little kids, but that is about the limit of these people. Anyway, I'm just wondering the black * on the file. What does that mean?

Any help would be appreciate it.

I'm 71 and run out of patience particularly with government. I'm writing my last scientific paper, after that I don't care.

That asterisk icon signifies that there is pending changes to the data source. running a save on that data source from the context menu will force a manual save, otherwise when the .map file is saved that should also save pending changes.
