I've looked through the documentation (Exporting, Layouts) and maybe I have missed it or the capability isn't there...

I use maps regularly in powerpoint presentations, and would like to export layouts or map views in a friendly format, like .png. As far as I can tell, you cannot turn a map or layout into an image via export or interface in Manifold 9? Is this true? What am I missing? I'm just looking for an image and don't need or want any georeferencing information with it.

pdfs don't often play nice with powerpoint, so printing a layout to pdf isn't a good solution.

Much appreciated, I would never have found that! (and it isn't a hit via the search in the documentation using the mfd8 lingo of "make image", only a top result "save as image", but not "export image")

Not clear why there isn't an option to make an image from a layout as you could in mfd8...seems arbitrary to only have it available to maps.

Have you used the snipping tool. It is quick and easy, paste directly into PPP

yes, and that is the quick and dirty solution to a single image. But I like to do layer builds in presentations, and have enough OCD that even minor misalignment makes me crazy - hard to be really precise!
