I remenber i can easy apply boundaries in M8 and i ask myselft what is the type of the result ?. So i reinstall M8 ( 8.0.31 ) and discover that type in M8 is line with more information <geom ....> compare to M9 that is <geom Line> only. But howto achieve boundaries in M9 ? !

In M9 i use the transform search bar and enter boundaries or border but find nothing ( nothing appear blank white) !! It was far more easy to achieve boundaries ( find search) in M8 !

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

NB if the shape was a circle ( here polyline create from area using M8 ) :

-empty circle is a open circle = poly line ( only border can be selected )

-fullfill circle is close circle = area ( inside can be selected )

Use SQL function GeomBounds(). If I understand correctly.

Read the manual.
