Subject: DLL Error Running IronPython Script in Manifold 8 on Windows 10

PLEASE RESPOND QUICKLY

Message:

I'm encountering a DLL error when running an IronPython script in Manifold 8 on Windows 10. Despite installing IronPython and registering the DLLs in the GAC, I receive an error indicating that the required DLLs cannot be found or loaded. Any assistance would be appreciated.

We are finally done with the build.

The big feature that we have been working on is the Manifold database server which allows serving Manifold data over the network. The database server is currently read-only. We are planning to make it read-write in the future, but this is not a big priority right now, because even a read-only server can do a lot of useful things: sharing data that is too inconvenient to copy around or needs to be updated regularly, offloading computations from an underpowered machine such as a laptop to a bigger server, distributing computations onto multiple machines, etc. There are also many new features which now become possible.

We added even more formatting options for field values. We also added a new dataport for KOBO toolbox, a widely used open source technology for data acquisition using mobile clients or a web browser. The data can be hosted on a server provided by KOBO (there are generous free options), or on your own system that has KOBO installed.

The next build will fill missing pieces for features added during the 175.x build series, add various small items based on user feedback, fix outstanding bugs, and go public as 176.0.

We are extending formatting options for field values. This build adds query functions that format values of various types. Next builds will allow applying this formatting to fields in tables and queries, and automatically carry it over to labels. You can use this build to format values in labels right away by using expressions in the label text pattern.

This thread describes the last batch of updates to the 9.0.174.x series of builds which were merged to 9.0.175.

This batch of updates also applies to SQL for ArcGIS Pro, which is a new product based on Manifold 9 technology with the development synchronized with that of Manifold 9. The thread also describes changes made in the new build of Manifold 8.

We reworked labels to use a text pattern instead of a text field, applying this change to storage / painting / printing, etc. A text pattern is much more flexible than a text field not only because it may reference more than one field, but also because you may use it to alter label text easily without altering the table (which can be very big or which you may not have permissions to alter). Future builds will include means to format field values in the pattern, and will include various improvements for rendering labels.

We are also gradually extending support for GDB. Future builds will include several updates specific to SQL for ArcGIS.

The new build for 9 contains a big set of fixes and improvements for databases, better error diagnostics for operations on data in MAP files, and a rework of query operations for tile masks.

The new build for 8 contains several small fixes, particularly, the new proposed fix for rendering big images using Make Image.

Cutting edge builds for 8 come with limitations that are slightly different from those for 9: there should be a working non-portable install of Manifold 8 on the same system (9 does not require this), third-party applications and web sites continue to use the non-portable install (with 9 you can specify which install to use). To run a cutting edge build, just unpack it and run one of the MANIFOLD.EXE files (either in BIN or in BIN64).

This build contains several significant improvements for the query engine as well as improvements for GDB and LAS. There were some adjustments to our development plans with several new features related to all our products being given priority. We will see these new features in the coming weeks.
