Hi all,

So I installed the ODBC driver from this source and can import SQLite info into Manifold. When I export a table from Manifold to SQLite however I get the message "Can't export data". Actually it does add the table to the SQLite file with all its fields, it just fails to send any records. I've played around with many of the settings available (see attached) to set during the connection but to no avail. It appears I have full permission to the sqlite db. The problem persists even with the most basic table (single integer field or single text field in the table). Any thoughts on what might be going on or things to try?

Thanks. Mike

Have you tried to use any other application with this odbc driver to see if it works?

For example I would try using Ms Excel to export a table to SQLite database.

From other threads available here I'm not sure if its possible to Manifold with SQLite (with odbc).

Does it give read-write access when you use the sqlite-ODBC driver as ADO.NET ODBC driver source?

In case you use firefox you could try this extra "SQLite Manager 0.8x" which is a manager for SQLite and all SQLite databases should work with it. It would be useful to check if the problem is related to the db or ODBC connection.

Yes, it sure does. Didn't see that in the list. Thanks Klaus and thanks Gustavo for the posts.

With ArcGIS 10.2 they began supporting SQLite. I was hoping this might be a good way to interchange data with ESRI, but unfortunately their implementation supports ST_Geometry and Spatialite geometry, while Manifold supports Geometry (SHP) and Geometry (WKB). ESRI cannot read Manifold's versions. The wait continues ...

A spatial db whose native geometry ist used by Arcgis and by Manifold is PostGIS. I haven't tested though.

I think your right Klaus but was hoping to not have the overhead of PostGIS to improve ease of sharing with folks who don't want to install PostGIS.

Hi Mike,

Spatiallite is supposed to be a copy of PostGIS, so that when you know PostGIS, you already known Spatiallite. Getting to Spatiallite using PostGIS might be the solution. Same caveat applies, I have not tested it properly.

So go from Manifold to PostGIS to Spatialite to ESRI (if ESRI user is not using PostGIS). Seems doable. Thanks Forest.
